 When I was about seven I realized I was different from other kids.  I realized that I could hear voices.  At the time I didn't think it was spirits that I was hearing, that came later.  I remember asking my best friend Tammy if she could hear the voices too, and she no.  She made fun of my secret, and from that time on I never told another soul. I finally realized in my teens that it was indeed spirits that I was hearing.  I can remember knowing things were going to happen before they happened, feeling spirits pains and emotions, and actually hearing them speak to me.  I began to think I was abnormal, as I really didn't understand why I had this gift or how to use it.  So I blocked it throughout my teen years.  I would still hear the voices occasionally, but paid them no attention, until one night in 1990. 

 I was a, green, fresh out of school, cop.  And I had just been on a call where a drunk driver had killed two people in a car accident and fled the scene.  Before I talked to any of the witnesses, I heard a man's voice tell me what the car looked like and what the driver looked like.  The man's voice belonged to one of the victims of the accident.  The information I received from the spirit was confirmed by witness accounts of the accident.  After I finished working the accident scene I left the area looking for the suspect.  I heard the man's voice again, and he told me a specific location to visit, where another accident had just occurred.  I drove to the location and found a parked car demolished, but again the suspect had fled the area.  As I was preparing to do the paperwork on this accident, I heard the voice again.  He said "You will find him at the Royal Bar".  This was only a few blocks away so I jumped in my patrol car, and sure enough there was the suspect's car sitting outside of the bar.  The suspect was inside.  I arrested him, and took him to jail.  As far as I know he is still in jail. 

 That night reawakened my "gift", and I used it after that to help solve crimes.  Shortly after that I got married, and had a child and left law enforcement.  But I continued to use my gift as a way to help people whenever I could.  I must tell you that even though I have this ability, I have a skeptical mind.  I always tell people that I am a skeptic with a heart of a believer.  How can I be a skeptic when I can hear the voices of spirits?  That's a question I can't really explain.  I just know that if I were someone without this gift I would want more proof than someone else's word.  That is what lead me to investigations.  I want to be able to give the public more than just my word as proof.  I want pictures, video, evp's and other scientific data to back up what I already know exists.
