(Paranormal Investigator)

When I was a little girl, my mother told me that years before, she’d awoken one night to find her father, who had died only 10 days before I was born, standing at my crib, peeping in to see the granddaughter he had just missed come into this world.  “But I don’t believe in ghosts,” she’d said.  “It must’ve been something else.”  Since then, I’ve been on a personal mission to prove that she wasn’t crazy, that it wasn’t the psychological trauma of having lost a parent, that my grandfather had indeed visited me one night before moving on.  He had to.  After waiting 9 months, he wasn’t going to cross over without catching at least one glimpse of his baby’s baby!  That mission has led me to devour hundreds of books on the subject of ghosts and spirits.  I’ve seen them as flickering lights appear out of thin air.  I’ve heard them as kitchen chairs moving in the middle of the night for no reason.  I’ve felt them touch my hair, and I’ve seen them as moving figures in my peripheral vision.   I want others to know that they’re real.  I want people to know that paranormal science is still new, but it’s gaining strength, and I want to be a part of it when its heyday finally arrives.  I’ve been an elementary school teacher, a baker and designer of wedding cakes, an author of teen novels, and now I’m happy to add paranormal investigator to my résumé.
