Ghost Hunters

Ghost Hunting
Iis a profession, a technical craft where most of the knowledge ghost hunters have acquired is self-taught and learned directly on the job or by working along side other ghost hunters as apprentice. Most ghost hunters already have a very strong belief in ghosts. The drive to understand the very nature and origins of the human soul draw people into this field. Like parapsychologist, ghost hunters look for scientific data to determine if anomalies can be detected during ghost hunts in specific locations or during moments when active unexplained phenomenon is occurring. One key difference is that ghost hunters believe most true paranormal events are caused by unseen ghosts or entities where as parapsychologist point to human agents as the triggers for 'events'. Unlike parapsychology in which course curriculums and history of the craft are taught in colleges and universities, most ghost hunting organizations are self taught and self funded. There are a few self-sanctioned organizations that teach their versions of what ghost hunting should or should not be, however as a whole it is an unregulated industry. Ghost hunters and group philosophies tend to be as varied as most unregulated industries are. Some are staffed with excellent competent professionals who excel in their knowledge base and can produce solid investigative results along with sound conclusions based on their findings while others are simply hobbyist . Most ghost hunters and groups now use common data gathering devices which aids in the continuity of findings. With the proliferation of information obtainable now through the computer age, ghost hunters and groups now network and gather data for shared studies and reviews of their cases with other on-line ghost hunting organizations. Ghost hunters assume the functions of detectives; taking notes, doing interviews, researching locations and background, taking pictures and video and finally conducting a stakeout or 'ghosthunt'. On the investigative side, ghost hunting teams must be aware of all logical and natural explanations along with data information obtained during a hunt in order to find a reasonable conclusion. The methods utilized by ghost hunters and parapsychologist are very similar. Primary distinction is the focus of their attentions. When an actual phenomena is observed; one sees ghosts, while the other sees, extraordinary evidence of psychokinesis. You can be assured, either way. If there is a true unexplainable paranormal phenomena/event taking place they will both find it, record its readings and catch it on film.
