My interest in ghost probably began before the time one has memories. I actually have 2 memories when I was 2; one was a fuzzy remembrance of a beautiful garden with small like rivers running all through it. My memory would then change to myself enjoying this beautiful garden, but then became very scared of the alligators swimming in the water. I never actually saw them, but I became fearful of the alligators nonetheless. What actually happened was that family had come to visit us and as tour guides of our fair state of Texas, we took them 4 hours away to San Antonio. We first had stopped by the Chinese Tea Garden and then shortly after we went to an alligator farm. When I was 13, I was able to revisit the Chinese Tea Garden. It was the same as what I had always remembered and had thought it must have been a dream. My first thought was of the dangerous alligators. This when I first began asking my parents questions, which when I found out that it was a dream. But I have a very clear memory that was about the same age.
I remember standing in my crib with all the lights off, screaming at the tops of my lungs for my mother due to being so scared of the dark. I was screaming like this was not the first time I’d done this before, but very scared. Someone said lightly (I believe more telepathically) something like, “Look at the vent above the door. You can see the light there.” I remember thinking (or saying), “Oh!” and turned to the light quickly. I believe I must have fallen asleep standing there with my eyes always on the light that gave me such comfort.
What I don’t remember is that I would often freak my sister out when she was with me and my family asking me who I was talking to, when I would start talking to someone. I always said it was a man, sometimes my by the window and other times on the ceiling so I could see him as I lay on my back.
Other strange things have happened throughout my life, but nothing like the above. I did get strange sensations of places I’d never seen and I felt drawn to those places, which now, most of those feelings I have learned are feeling spirits presence.
Although I have always had an interest in spirits, or ghost, I believe a great turning point was my fathers parents old farm that had a nice history to it (boarding house, brothel during the prohibition and so forth). I often had felt something there when I was young (and scared), and later found out by other cousins down the years, they too had the same fears and feelings, especially any that stayed there when they were young. Even at 18 I could feel someone watching me from that window where the grand kids would stay. Hearing of my mothers and aunts coinciding experiences later on in life peaked my interest even higher. Due to the interest, I found a group who discussed these things and even went as far as to go on a few ghost hunts with one of them where I learned and experienced so much. When this friend could no longer go on hunts, I kept eyes open and searched for a similar group and now I am a member of the Florida Paranormal Research Foundation.
I have learned so much about myself and what has been taken place most of life. Here I am in my mid 40’s and I feel like I’m almost grown up. You may ask me about sprits (ghosts), and all I can say is that do exist. I’ve seen a couple, I’ve heard them with my ears, and have heard them telepathically too many times to count. Yes, they do walk among us everyday, and some can even be your unseen friends.
