The problem with being raised by a psychic is that; as a teenager, you will never - ever get away with a lie.  Ever.

I was born and raised in a tiny town on the Mid-Atlantic coast, by (obviously) psychics.  My area was rich with Native American history, colonial history, pre-civil war legends and homes. There wasn't much after that date, but for those who wanted to study history it was a treasure trove. When I was younger I'd spend summers on my bike, going through old graveyards and taking rubbings of the oldest stones. I studied and participated in a variety of religions and spiritual practices from an early age. I've had experiences with the paranormal since before I went to school and first realized that 'para' needed to be amended to the word  'normal'.  I grew up around psychics and people I can only call ~ gifted.   I've awoken to shaking beds, moved objects, and full bodied apparitions.  Despite that, or maybe because of it, I've always tried to find the rational, scientific reason behind phenomenon before accepting an event as genuinely paranormal. Discounting the false reports and finding evidence; factual, provable evidence makes the paranormal that much closer to being the normal that I grew up thinking it was. Having phenomenon substantiated and accepted by the 'mainstream' brings that closer.
