Hello, my name is Tracy Pickett.
I have lived in Lakeland, Florida for the last 5 years. I am 37 years old and am happily married with 2 beautiful daughters. I have a Law Degree and am currently the CEO of my own computer business; I also do private investigation work on the side. I love life and the opportunities it presents.
I try to surround myself with wonderful, positive people because I realize that through great people, great things are possible. I have a high energy level and am very enthusiastic about new experiences. Science and Discovery is a wonderful thing.
I have always been interested in the paranormal field, and have been allowed the wonderful opportunity to have been accepted as a member of The Florida Paranormal Research Foundation to help further my understanding of the unknown.
One of the reasons I have such an interest in the paranormal and the otherworldly, is because of a large number of “strange” occurrences I have had growing up. I am first generation American, born of British parents and have discovered that a number of my relatives / ancestors had the gift of second sight. I come from a family that has always been somewhat "sensitive" to the paranormal. Humans are said to have five senses: smell, sound, sight, touch and taste. A select few in this world experience an additional sense, sometimes referred to as a "sixth sense". This basically means that those people have the ability to perceive thoughts, emotions and occasionally even visions that the rest cannot. This sensitivity varies individually. I am a Clairvoyant / Clairsentience in training, meaning that I am still learning about my “gifts”
Clairsentience (also known as Psychometry) is the ability to hold an object or touch someone and sense the energy surrounding that person, place or thing. A clairsentient is an individual who is empathetic and senses energies ‘good or bad’. For example, when sensing a negative situation a clairsentient may feel sick, while a positive experience may feel like butterflies in the stomach, or a sense of feeling safe and peaceful.
We are all born with this particular psychic ability. It’s learning to regulate the gift of sensing moods and emotions that’s the difficult part. Aside from being honest and naïve, as children we are very open and tuned into the psychic world. As we grow older and experience life, to avoid negative experiences, we develop a ‘thick skin’, sheltering ourselves as we begin to interact with people other than the familiar circle of family and friends. As adults we only rely on the left side of our brain using logic, 80% of our brain goes unused. These psychic gifts that we were all born with are often unconsciously pushed to the recesses of our mind, but fortunately they can be restored later in life through spiritual development or during life-altering experiences.
The biggest hope that I have is to be able to capture evidence that would suggest to me without any reasonable doubt that ‘they’ do or do not exist. I am researching the paranormal due to the fact of knowing that there is something beyond our worldly lives. Curiosity is human nature and to investigate the unusual is a wonderful thing to experience. I look forward to exploring the realities of the paranormal with others who share the same beliefs. I hope to discover truths and eliminate false proof with the team. I have also taken up spirit photography and have had extraordinary results.
I do not believe there is a bonafide expert in the field of paranormal research. The science is relative at best. While some investigators are degreed or have many years experience, it is my belief that because of the arbitrary nature of psychic/spirit phenomena, neither time nor school makes someone any more
